Abdellatif Hammouchi Awarded Interpol’s Highest Distinction for Exemplary Commitment to International Security
The 93rd Interpol General Assembly, held from November 24 to 27 in Marrakech, was marked by an exceptional event: the awarding of Interpol’s highest distinction to Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of the DGSN-DGST Pole. This honor recognizes his remarkable efforts in strengthening security and stability at both regional and international levels.
The ceremony brought together over 800 delegates from 179 countries, including 82 national security directors. The event highlighted Morocco’s strategic role in multilateral police cooperation and global security, while celebrating Hammouchi’s expertise and leadership.
During his speech at the closing session, Hammouchi emphasized that the success of this Interpol edition resulted from rigorous preparation and collective commitment. “The security of one country depends on the security of all,” he stated, stressing trust, mutual respect, and cooperation among member states.
The recommendations and decisions adopted during the Assembly, he noted, are essential tools for combating transnational crime, fraud, and organized crime. They enhance police forces’ capacity to address contemporary security challenges and consolidate regional stability.
