Thanks to the collaboration of the ‘DGST’, the police arrest 4 suspects involved in drug trafficking and the organization of illegal immigration in Agadir

With close coordination with the General Directorate for National Territory Surveillance (DGST), the security forces of the Agadir Security Directorate arrested four individuals on the evening of Sunday, January 12, 2025, two of whom had criminal records, on suspicion of being involved in a case related to drug and psychoactive substance possession and trafficking, as well as organizing illegal immigration.

Security sources revealed that two of the suspects were arrested at the entrance to the city of Agadir, immediately after arriving aboard a refrigerated truck coming from a northern city in the kingdom. During the search, 155 grams of cocaine were seized, along with two marine engines suspected of being used to organize illegal immigration via maritime routes.

The sources also stated that a search operation carried out at the main suspect’s house in Dchira led to the seizure of quantities of white powder, the nature of which is currently being verified, as well as an electronic scale and receipts for money transfers suspected to be related to the commission of these criminal acts. Investigations also led to the identification of two other individuals suspected of being involved in this criminal activity, who were arrested in Inzegane, where a large knife was found in their possession.

Further checks in the national police database revealed that one of the suspects was the subject of two national arrest warrants issued by the Royal Gendarmerie and the judicial police of Settat and Inzegane, for suspected involvement in financial and economic crimes and in a hit-and-run traffic accident.

The suspects have been placed in police custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, as part of the judicial investigation aimed at determining the potential connections of this criminal activity and uncovering all the criminal acts attributed to the individuals involved.
