Attempted Kidnapping in Sidi-Bennour: Arrest of Two Suspects

The officers from the judicial police brigade in El Jadida, in collaboration with their counterparts in Sidi-Bennour, successfully arrested two suspects involved in a kidnapping and detention case of a woman in Sidi-Bennour, as well as in an attempted armed robbery, on February 15, 2025.

According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the investigations conducted by the police services allowed for the identification of the presumed perpetrators of the case. The field interventions led to the arrest of a 26-year-old woman in Sidi-Bennour and her accomplice, aged 24, who was arrested in coordination with the royal gendarmerie in Ouled Frej, near Sidi-Bennour.

The incident occurred on February 6, when the victim filed a complaint reporting her abduction by three individuals, including a woman wearing an abaya, in a light vehicle. After three hours of captivity, she was released when the kidnappers failed to find the money she had received from a property sale. A part of this criminal act was filmed and shared on social media.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspects obtained information about the victim’s property sale and planned to kidnap her in an attempt to steal the money she had received. After searching her house unsuccessfully, they released her.

The two suspects are currently in police custody under the authority of the public prosecutor, while investigations continue to identify all other accomplices involved in the case.
