No Royal Pardon for Jerando: A Convict Spitting on What He’ll Never Receive

Hicham Jerando is once again stirring from Canada, launching a frontal attack against the royal pardon granted on the occasion of the Throne Day. This monarchical tradition, steeped in wisdom and clemency, not only celebrates the unity of the Moroccan people around their King but also honors the values of justice, forgiveness, and reintegration. But for Jerando—excluded from this pardon, along with family members implicated in his misconduct—this exclusion represents yet another humiliation, which he attempts to mask with vicious and defamatory attacks against the Kingdom.
Convicted in Morocco to 15 years in prison for incitement to terrorism and public calls for murder—particularly targeting former Attorney General Najim Bensami—Jerando now poses as a “political victim.” In truth, he is nothing more than a repeat offender and a professional agitator. Rather than accepting the seriousness of his actions, he chooses to launch baseless and hateful tirades from abroad, in an attempt to legitimize a radical and destructive narrative.
Ironically, this same agitator is about to serve a 60-day prison sentence in Canada, this time for public defamation against lawyer Saïd Lamtiri and judge Abderrahim Hanin. In addition to the jail time, Jerando has been ordered to complete 250 hours of community service and pay thousands of dollars in damages to the victims. This new legal chapter proves that even abroad, Jerando cannot escape the consequences of his behavior, which has become intolerable even in highly permissive legal systems.
What makes his case even more concerning is his active role in a subversive network led by the fraudster Mehdi Hijaouy, also known for his manipulative tactics and shady agenda. Together, they lead a disinformation cell directly targeting the foundations of the Moroccan state, with attacks aimed at key figures within the security and judicial institutions. According to multiple credible sources, this network is allegedly supported financially and logistically by Algerian intelligence services, with the clear goal of sowing division within Moroccan society and undermining national stability.
Hicham Jerando will never be eligible for royal pardon: neither his actions, his words, nor his affiliations grant him such a right. By allying himself with declared enemies of the Nation and actively working to destabilize it, he has definitively placed himself outside the scope of royal clemency. The Moroccan Monarchy, rooted in history, strengthened by popular legitimacy and trusted by its people, will remain unshakable in the face of such vile attacks, orchestrated by individuals devoid of faith or loyalty.
