UN praises King Mohammed VI’s generosity for humanitarian aid to Gaza

The United Nations has expressed deep appreciation for His Majesty King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, following the dispatch of additional humanitarian aid described as “significant” for the people of Gaza. UN Secretary-General’s spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, stressed in a statement to MAP that this royal initiative reflects both “generosity” and a consistent commitment to supporting Palestinians in need.

Mr. Dujarric highlighted the expected positive impact of this aid, noting that the people of Gaza are enduring what he described as “catastrophic” conditions. In light of widespread shortages, he emphasized the urgent need for humanitarian initiatives to meet the population’s basic needs. He further stated that the international community must “do as much as possible” to alleviate Palestinian suffering.

In this context, the UN spokesperson recalled that Gazans lack everything: food, medicine, and shelter. He issued an urgent appeal to the international community to intensify humanitarian efforts and to “exert pressure” for the establishment of an immediate ceasefire, deemed essential for aid delivery and civilian protection.

The aid sent under the High Instructions of His Majesty the King consists of around 100 tons of food supplies and medicines, directed primarily to the most vulnerable groups, particularly children and infants. As in previous operations, the Sovereign ensured that the assistance was airlifted and delivered directly to beneficiaries, reaffirming Morocco’s steadfast commitment to concretely supporting its Palestinian brothers.
