Abdellatif Hammouchi receives a senior Polish government official to discuss an advanced security partnership with Morocco

Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance Abdellatif Hammouchi received, in his office in Rabat on Thursday afternoon, 9 April 2026, Tomasz Siemoniak, the Secretary of State attached to the Prime Minister and responsible for coordinating Poland’s security services and special agencies.

This meeting took place within the framework of the working visit being carried out by the Polish government official in charge of the country’s security services to Morocco, at the head of a high-level official delegation. He was accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Morocco, with the aim of consolidating and strengthening the areas of security partnership with the Kingdom of Morocco.

The two sides held bilateral talks covering a number of issues of common interest, including the strengthening of coordination and information-sharing on irregular migration, the securing of border crossings, and the reinforcement of operational cooperation and mutual technical assistance in combating organised crime and terrorism, as well as in the various fields of scientific and technical policing.

The two sides also reviewed the challenges and issues linked to the risks posed by the terrorist threat to the global and African security situation. They exchanged identical views regarding high-risk security threats in the Sahel and Sahara region, the Horn of Africa, and other emerging hotspots in which terrorist organisations active on the global security scene are operating.

Poland’s security services are relying on bilateral cooperation with the Directorate General of National Security and the Directorate General for Territorial Surveillance as part of a solid partnership built on strong foundations of joint cooperation, on the basis that Morocco is a trusted and essential partner in the fight against terrorism and organised crime.

In support of this cooperation, Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance Abdellatif Hammouchi and the Polish government official agreed to arrange a forthcoming visit to Morocco by the head of Poland’s Internal Security Agency, with the aim of establishing an institutional framework to structure the security partnership with the Kingdom.

This bilateral meeting reflects the shared desire of both parties to strengthen their joint cooperation in the security field, while also opening up promising prospects for advancing and developing this cooperation in a way that will positively benefit the security of both countries.
