Morocco strengthens its humanitarian support for Gaza through the “Warm Winter” campaign

Rabat continues to reinforce its humanitarian commitment to the Palestinian population with the launch of the “Warm Winter” campaign, an initiative carried out in the Gaza Strip by the Ertiqaa Association for Community Development. Funded by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency and the Moroccan Association for Support to Reconstruction in Palestine, the operation aims to assist displaced families struggling to withstand particularly harsh winter conditions.

In the coastal area west of the Nuseirat camp, hundreds of beneficiaries received winter clothing, blankets, and plastic sheeting to reinforce tents weakened by water infiltration. This urgent aid arrives at a critical moment, as winter rains worsen the already precarious living conditions of displaced people surviving in makeshift shelters.

For many families, Moroccan support represents more than material assistance. It is a gesture of constant solidarity, often highlighted by beneficiaries who expressed their gratitude to King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan people for their long-standing commitment to the Palestinian cause, a recognition that underscores the human impact of these repeated interventions.

Campaign coordinator Zouhair Dardouna described the assistance as “vital for strengthening the resilience of displaced populations facing extremely difficult conditions.” He explained that the operation responds to the most urgent needs, especially protection from cold and severe weather, factors that exacerbate a situation marked by months of violence and instability.

According to Dardouna, the initiative is part of a broader effort led by Morocco, which has intensified its humanitarian actions in Gaza in line with Royal Directives. Local officials and residents consider this mobilization “essential,” noting that Moroccan support has remained steady since the start of the aggression. With this new campaign, Rabat reaffirms its role as a committed humanitarian actor supporting the most vulnerable Palestinian communities.
