Morocco-Russia: Bourita and Lavrov Strengthen Bilateral Dialogue

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, held a telephone conversation on Tuesday with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov. The discussion aimed to strengthen political dialogue and consolidate the traditionally friendly relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Russian Federation.

Both ministers welcomed the significant progress made in bilateral relations, highlighting the central role of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and President Vladimir Putin in developing a solid and lasting partnership between the two countries.

They recalled the Deep Strategic Partnership agreed upon during His Majesty the King’s visit to Moscow in 2016, emphasizing the need to continue and deepen initiatives implemented since then across all areas of common interest.

During the conversation, Bourita and Lavrov discussed upcoming bilateral milestones, particularly preparations for the 8th Joint Commission, stressing the importance of ongoing cooperation to strengthen economic, political, and cultural ties.

Finally, the ministers exchanged views on regional and international issues and agreed to maintain a constructive political dialogue based on mutual respect, in order to consolidate stability and cooperation between Morocco and Russia.
