Casablanca: arrest of a French national of Algerian origin wanted by Interpol

Security services of the DGSN operating at Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport arrested, on October 25, 2025, a 24-year-old French national of Algerian origin. The individual was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the French judicial authorities, according to a security source.

A check of the suspect in Interpol’s database confirmed that he was internationally wanted under a red notice issued by Interpol’s National Central Bureau in Paris. The notice concerns his alleged involvement in a case linked to an organized criminal network and the illegal possession of explosive materials.

Following his arrest, the suspect was placed in custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor as part of the extradition procedure provided for by current legislation. At the same time, the National Central Bureau “Interpol Rabat,” part of the General Directorate of National Security, officially notified its French counterpart of the arrest.

This operation demonstrates the efficiency and vigilance of Moroccan security services in monitoring the country’s entry points. It also highlights the authorities’ ability to quickly identify wanted individuals through close cooperation with international law enforcement agencies.

Finally, the suspect’s arrest is part of Morocco’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international security cooperation. It reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to combating all forms of transnational crime, particularly those that threaten collective security and regional stability.
