An Iftar in Paris with the Participation of André Azoulay: Celebrating Coexistence and Intercultural Dialogue

An Iftar dedicated to the values of peace, sharing, and intercultural dialogue was held on Sunday in Garges-lès-Gonesse, in the Paris region, at the initiative of the associations “Diaspor’AveniR” and “Marocains Pluriels.” This event, rooted in Moroccan tradition, brought together various personalities and members of the Moroccan community, with the virtual participation of André Azoulay, advisor to King Mohammed VI.
In his speech, Azoulay emphasized the richness of Moroccan diversity and its role in promoting coexistence. He stressed that Morocco, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, has chosen to move away from identity withdrawal to affirm a social modernity based on otherness and tolerance. He invited participants to fully appreciate this Moroccan identity, which is recognized as a model on the international stage.
The initiative was praised for its commitment to dialogue and diversity. Azoulay congratulated the young Moroccans in France who proudly uphold the values of their country. He highlighted Morocco’s contribution as a committed actor in fostering an inclusive society, where differences are seen as a strength rather than an obstacle to unity.
The Moroccan ambassador to Paris, Samira Sitail, also expressed her pride in this gathering, which reflects cultural and religious diversity. She recalled that Morocco has always cultivated this tradition of harmonious coexistence. According to her, coming together around shared values in a world in crisis has become a real challenge, requiring resilience and vigilance.
She concluded by emphasizing the importance of preserving this model of tolerance in the face of threats seeking to undermine it. This Iftar, far more than just a moment of conviviality, illustrated the commitment of Moroccans and their partners to a society built on respect and diversity.
