Spain, Morocco, and Portugal Bid to Host the 2035 Women’s World Cup

The president of the Spanish Football Federation, Rafael Louzán, announced that Spain will submit a joint bid with Morocco and Portugal to host the 2035 Women’s World Cup. This initiative builds on the collaboration between the three countries, which will also co-host the 2030 Men’s World Cup.

During a press conference in Madrid, Louzán emphasized the significance of this event for the growth of women’s football. “There is no better way to promote women’s sports than by hosting the world’s most prestigious tournament,” he stated.

This bid comes at a time when women’s football is experiencing significant growth, with increasing interest from the public and sports institutions. By highlighting their commitment to equality and sports development, the three nations hope to convince FIFA of their ability to organize a high-level tournament.

If the bid is successful, the 2035 Women’s World Cup will mark a major milestone in Iberian-Moroccan cooperation and could strengthen ties between Europe and Africa through sports.
