A delegation of French senators praises the development dynamics in Dakhla

A delegation of French senators praised, this Wednesday in Dakhla, the socio-economic achievements and the development dynamics that the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region is experiencing. This visit, initiated by the Chamber of Counselors, allowed the members of the France-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group to closely observe the advantages and potential of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region to attract investments, form partnerships, and strengthen commercial exchanges.
In a statement to the press, French Senator Max Brisson highlighted the close relations between the French Senate and the Moroccan Chamber of Counselors, expressing his admiration for the development momentum across all sectors in the region, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
“We were informed of all the structuring projects taking shape in the region, particularly in the fields of renewable energy, tourism, fishing, and agriculture,” he said, expressing his desire to strengthen bilateral relations in these sectors.
For his part, the president of the Morocco-France Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Chamber of Counselors, Mohamed Zidouh, emphasized that this visit embodies the strong relations between the two countries, which have been further reinforced, especially after the state visit of President Emmanuel Macron to Morocco, at the invitation of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
This visit to Dakhla, Zidouh continued, was an opportunity for the French senators to closely witness the development boost in Dakhla-Oued Eddahab and learn about the structuring projects that have been implemented or are being carried out, including the new Dakhla Atlantic port and the seawater desalination plant.
During their visit, members of the France-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group held meetings with the wali of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, governor of the Oued Eddahab province, Ali Khalil, the vice president of the Regional Council, Moulay Boutal Lembarki, and the president of the Municipal Council of Dakhla, Erragheb Hormatallah, focusing on the development boom the region is experiencing in various fields.
Additionally, the delegation members attended a presentation by the director of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Regional Investment Center, Mounir Houari, who detailed, with figures, the main economic drivers of the region, from fishing to agriculture, including tourism and renewable energies, as well as the main infrastructure projects and investment opportunities.
