International arrest warrant issued against Abdelouahed Sedjari in fraud and illegal migration case

Moroccan judicial authorities have taken a new step in dismantling a vast criminal network led by Mehdi Hijaouy. Acting on the instructions of the Attorney General at the Rabat Court of Appeal, the National Brigade of Judicial Police (BNPJ) issued, on Tuesday 19 August, an international arrest warrant against Abdelouahed Sedjari, described as a key accomplice in the case.

According to gathered information, Abdelouahed Sedjari is being prosecuted for forming a criminal association, organizing illegal migration, and committing fraud. The prosecution has ordered the immediate implementation of international procedures to enable his arrest, regardless of the country where he may be located.

Mehdi Hijaouy, considered the head of the network, is also at the center of investigations. Already subject to an international arrest warrant, he is accused of orchestrating large-scale fraud operations and facilitating illegal migration to Europe. His whereabouts remain unknown, but Moroccan authorities continue to actively cooperate with foreign judicial bodies.

This new warrant highlights the determination of Moroccan authorities to combat transnational networks specialized in fraud and illegal migration. It is part of a broader strategy aimed at dismantling criminal activities that threaten the country’s security and stability, while strengthening international judicial cooperation.
