Mr. Hammouchi Undertakes a Working Visit to the United Arab Emirates

The Director General of the DGSN-DGST division, Mr. Abdellatif Hammouchi, began a working visit to the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, accompanied by a high-level security delegation. This visit is part of ongoing efforts to consolidate the strategic partnership between Rabat and Abu Dhabi and to strengthen bilateral cooperation mechanisms in security and policing.

According to a statement from the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, the visit program included a meeting between Mr. Hammouchi and the Director of the UAE State Security Agency, Mr. Talal Rashid Al Zaabi. The meeting took place in the presence of senior security officials from both countries and involved in-depth discussions on issues of mutual interest.

The talks focused on the security challenges facing both countries in an international and regional context marked by multiple threats. Officials particularly discussed risks related to terrorism and violent extremism, especially in areas of tension, and more specifically in the Sahel region, which remains one of the most concerning hotspots in Africa.

The visit also provided an opportunity to explore ways to strengthen operational cooperation to better anticipate and counter transnational threats such as terrorism and organized crime. Both parties emphasized the importance of increasing joint operations and diversifying forms of partnership while prioritizing the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of security.

The Moroccan and Emirati officials stressed the need to develop more dynamic coordination mechanisms and ensure a smooth flow of information. The shared goal is to enhance prevention and guarantee a firm and effective response to threats targeting the stability and security of both countries, while respecting the principles of international cooperation.
