93rd Interpol General Assembly: Mr. Hammouchi Highlights an Exceptional Success

The 93rd Interpol General Assembly, held in Marrakech from November 24 to 27, was a success, declared the Director General of the DGSN-DGST, Mr. Abdellatif Hammouchi. During the closing session, he emphasized the exceptional nature of this edition, both in terms of the number and diversity of delegations present and the scope of the decisions and recommendations adopted.
In his speech, Mr. Hammouchi stressed Morocco’s confidence in the success of this global event. He recalled that the Kingdom viewed this assembly as a key lever to strengthen multilateral security cooperation and facilitate bilateral partnerships among Interpol member states.
The security official also highlighted the importance of the rigorous preparations that preceded this international meeting. According to him, ensuring Morocco’s security inevitably requires the security of all member countries, a conviction rooted in the Moroccan vision of a global, cooperative security system based on mutual trust.
The resolutions and recommendations adopted during this edition were praised for their innovative nature. He affirmed that they would enable the effective tackling of current security challenges and consolidate the stability sought by the entire international community.
Mr. Hammouchi also paid tribute to the outgoing Interpol President, Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, for his continuous efforts that elevated the organization to a remarkable level of international recognition. He praised his ability to bring states closer together and strengthen Interpol’s strategic vision.
The Director General also extended his congratulations to the new President of the organization, Luca Filippo, wishing him full success in his new role. He reaffirmed the full commitment of Moroccan security services to cooperate closely with him while respecting Interpol’s statutes.
The closing session was attended by several senior officials, including the outgoing and incoming Interpol Presidents, Secretary General Valdecy Urquiza, as well as numerous Moroccan personalities, including Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and the Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, Mohamed Haramou.
Bringing together more than 800 delegates from 179 countries, this assembly allowed participants to address key topics such as combating transnational crime, dismantling international fraud networks, strengthening police capacities, and promoting the role of women within law enforcement agencies.
