Future Projects of the DGSN: Consolidation and Modernization of Security Achievements

The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) plans to continue in 2026 the enhancement of achievements in the modernization of police infrastructure and services. It aims to strengthen the efficiency of its systems while launching new programs to better meet citizens’ expectations regarding public security.
In terms of international ambitions, the DGSN seeks to develop security cooperation, particularly through the exchange of expertise in combating terrorism and organized crime. It also plans to expand partnerships with countries in Latin America, Africa, and Asia to best serve Morocco’s strategic interests.
Several major projects are in the final stages of implementation. These include the inauguration of the Regional Security Headquarters in Al-Hoceïma, a summer center in Martil, the rehabilitation of the Erfoud police station, the creation of a new headquarters for the canine unit, police stations in Aïn Aouda and Daroua, and specialized brigades and services in several cities across the Kingdom.
The DGSN also emphasizes the digital modernization of its services. Technical teams will complete major IT projects aimed at strengthening system interconnection, optimizing data exchange, and ensuring compliance with laws on digital identity and personal data protection.
On the communication front, the DGSN will organize the seventh edition of Open Doors in Rabat in 2026, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the National Security. This event will provide an opportunity to strengthen dialogue with citizens and highlight the role of security forces in public life.
Regarding large-scale event security, the National Security services will build on the experience gained during the security operations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Best practices will be incorporated into a global security protocol for international competitions in preparation for the 2030 World Cup, jointly organized with Spain and Portugal.
Police training is another strategic priority. In 2026, the DGSN plans specialized training at the Higher Institute of Security Sciences in Ifrane and its training centers, focusing on artificial intelligence applied to security, cybercrime, and cyberterrorism. New national and international academic partnerships will strengthen these initiatives.
Through this annual review and its future projects, the General Directorate of National Security reaffirms its commitment to consolidating public security, enhancing citizens’ sense of safety, and improving the quality of services offered to citizens, residents, and visitors, while ensuring the improvement of professional and social conditions for all members of the National Security family.
