An Exemplary Cooperation Between the FBI and DGST Leads to the Arrest of a Daesh Sympathizer

International cooperation in the fight against terrorism has once again proven its effectiveness through a successful operation. After more than four months of coordination, the FBI, in close collaboration with Morocco’s General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested a 29-year-old U.S. citizen known by the pseudonym “Soulaimane Al-Amriki.” The individual was involved in promoting extremist ideas online and was planning to travel to Morocco to join Daesh sympathizers.
Investigations revealed the suspect’s suspicious online activities, where he spread the radical ideologies of the terrorist organization. Continuous exchanges between the two security agencies allowed the sharing of critical information, which facilitated the suspect’s location and arrest before he could carry out his plans.
The FBI praised the crucial role played by the DGST in this operation, highlighting its professionalism and ability to meet the demands of international investigations. This acknowledgment underscores the importance of partnerships between intelligence agencies in combating global threats.
This incident also emphasizes the need to monitor the online activities of individuals who may turn to extremism. Digital platforms remain a major tool for radicalization by groups like Daesh, making enhanced international collaboration essential to detect and prevent such threats.
Through this successful intervention, Morocco and the United States reaffirm their shared commitment to ensuring global security. This strategic partnership, built on mutual trust, continues to play a key role in the fight against international terrorism.
