Moroccan Security: A Leading Model in Development and Community Trust

The Secretary-General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, Mohamed Ben Ali Kouman, stated that Moroccan security forces have achieved tangible progress, fully aligned with the accelerated pace of development experienced by the Kingdom under the leadership of King Mohammed VI. This security success reflects Morocco’s commitment to providing a stable environment that fosters social cohesion and supports national development efforts.

These remarks were made during the opening of the sixth edition of the National Security Open Doors Days, which started Friday evening at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Center in El Jadida and will continue until May 21. This event offers an opportunity to strengthen the ties between security forces and citizens, allowing them to better understand the daily missions and sacrifices made by men and women in uniform.

Mr. Kouman emphasized that these security advancements result from the special attention King Mohammed VI pays to citizen safety, as well as the significant efforts made by sector officials to deliver quality services. Security is not just protection but also a fundamental pillar to support the demands of development across all sectors.

The Secretary-General also highlighted the importance of the open doors initiative, which strengthens bridges of trust between the police and society, enabling citizens to learn about various aspects of security work. This approach helps to enhance national cohesion and promote a greater sense of civic responsibility. It makes security forces more transparent and closer to the people.

The Arab official described the Moroccan experience as a model to follow in the region, especially regarding the development of community policing, respect for human rights, and improvement of security services. This positions Morocco as a leading regional actor in security matters.

This edition is held under the slogan “Proud to Serve an Ancient Nation and a Glorious Throne,” showcasing the latest security technologies and modern practices. This strategy aims to strengthen proximity to citizens and modernize public police services, reflecting Morocco’s growing commitment to building a safe and prosperous society.
