“Aman”: The Artificial Intelligence Revolution Enhancing Moroccan National Security

The General Directorate of National Security of Morocco unveiled its latest technological innovation during the sixth edition of the Open Doors Days, held under the slogan “Proud to serve an ancient nation and a glorious throne.” It launched the intelligent patrol “Aman,” an advanced model based on artificial intelligence to strengthen public security.
The “Aman” patrol features an integrated intelligent surveillance system, including facial recognition through high-definition cameras, automated reading of vehicle license plates matched against security databases, and a direct communication system with command centers for real-time data transmission.
This vehicle is also equipped with artificial intelligence algorithms capable of automatically analyzing suspicious behaviors in public spaces, enabling rapid and targeted interventions by security forces. Fully developed by engineers and technicians of the National Security, “Aman” is the first nationally manufactured model locally produced with these advanced technologies.
This advancement is part of the modernization of Morocco’s security apparatus, especially in preparation for major upcoming international events such as the 2030 World Cup (jointly hosted with Spain and Portugal), the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, and the 93rd Interpol General Assembly. “Aman” will play a central role in monitoring large crowds, tracking suspects, and speeding up interventions.
As part of reinforcing national identity, police vehicles have also adopted a new visual identity incorporating the Amazigh language alongside Arabic and French, resulting from a partnership with the Ministry in charge of digital transition.
Security experts have praised this innovative project, highlighting that it positions Morocco among the leading countries in technological policing. The General Directorate of National Security announced that the “Aman” patrol will be deployed soon across all provinces of the Kingdom after the final development phase. This innovation represents a true transformation of the policing concept, combining human efficiency with technological precision to lay the foundations for smart security in Morocco.
